Position: Database Administrator / Data Analyst
Location: North Brunswick, NJ, Albany, NY and other client’s location
Perform database development, testing/QA, enhancement, validation, data analysis, deployment, migration, integration, administration and support services on the NYS DOH HIV/AIDS Surveillance/ NYEHMS database systems and applications including - Analyze existing processes and Impact of new requirements; Gather business requirements for new process; Develop system requirements and create technical specifications; Design and develop database tables to capture data connecting NYEHMS data with external source data using PL/SQL and Java Scripts; Design and develop processes to automate analytics and maintain database systems; Develop algorithms for various sub-populations; Design and develop flagging data processes for assignment of sub-population groupers; Analyze and test capture of matched NYEHMS data with external data sources; Analyze and test data for optimum flow and successful delivery of data; Successful testing of all development (including data security); Develop PL/SQL code based on analysis of business and functional requirements in an Agile development environment; Design and implement database objects within Oracle databases (12c,l lg/10g); Write complex database programs using SQL * Plus, PL/SQL; Design, develop, and implement software code scripts for data loading and validation using Java APis, Control-M, Webshpere, MQ, JIRA, STAS, Git Jenkins, Rally and Confluence; Write utility programs and scripts to ensure availability of web-services API calls; Update and align server configuration; Periodically monitor production servers by executing of utility scripts; Maintain and implement reusable core database modules (for example: user interface libraries, event logging, data logging, batch scripts and scheduler jobs); Monitor the database systems performance; research and collect pertinent data points and prepare white papers on application behavior; Prepare Proof of Concept (POC) for enhanced database performance recommendations, including new tools/technologies required; Provide Tier 2 Technical support on production servers; Identify, escalate and document production issues; Perform troubleshooting and system maintenance, backup and disaster recovery;
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems/MIS or related data analytics fields, etc. and at least 5 years progressive hands-on experience in database and software systems and applications development and administration.
